IM Properties is headline sponsor for this year’s Hike for Homeless event, supporting the vital work of its Peddimore social value partner, Birmingham based St Basils.
Being staged on Saturday July 24 around the beautiful countryside of Warwickshire, IM Properties already has a team in training looking to complete 24 miles, the further distance, as one of three routes available.
St Basils supports over 5000, 16-25 year olds each year who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness across Birmingham, Coventry, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and the Wyre Forest.
Kerry Amory, social value manager at IM Properties who herself is stepping up to the challenge said:
“We’re really excited to support the Hike for Homeless event as part of our continued work with St Basils and our fundraising efforts for social value partners which has so far seen both IM Properties and our supply chain raise over £48,000.
“Now more than ever, charities need the business community to offer their support to ensure vital services are being delivered in the region. We are so pleased this fantastic fundraiser can go ahead after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
Kerry added:
“Our team is being led by Tom from our technical team and he’s planned some great training routes to put us through our paces.
“Being based in Solihull, we haven’t got far to get out and enjoy the beautiful Warwickshire countryside, however the main driver for all of us will be digging deep to raise much needed funds for St Basils.
“I couldn’t imagine the past year without having the security of home and this challenge will be a way for us all to show we care and to help bring about positive change for young people less fortunate.”
St Basils is one of four social value partners alongside Witton Lodge, Pioneer Group and JERICHO, IM Properties has partnered with for its Birmingham, Peddimore manufacturing and logistics scheme. It has also launched a £270,000 Peddimore Community Fund to help support local grassroot organisations.
Steve Rainbow the events manager for St Basils said ‘The Hike for Homeless’ has been one of our most popular fundraising events for over 20 years and we’re delighted that this year’s hike has been kindly sponsored by IM properties.
“The event gives friends, families, and colleagues the chance to really tackle a challenge together but in the most beautiful surroundings. We have teams who have signed up year after year and love the weeks of training too.
“The money raised from the hike really makes a difference to St Basils vital youth homelessness work supporting the most vulnerable in our community.”
