Our investment and commitment at extends beyond the physical infrastructure required to deliver a unique workplace. We want our occupiers to not only see the difference but to ‘feel’ it too. As a result, Peddimore will deliver benefits beyond its boundaries; providing a social return on our collective investment and in turn creating a positive legacy for years to come.
A hands on approach supported by extensive and continuous engagement has enabled us to see clearly where the real opportunities lie for making sure that the returns are a reality.
Key to Peddimore’s success will be providing a future workforce with the essential skills to compete for employment in both the construction and operational phases. Travel planning will make A to B a breeze for potential personnel to connect with the site by supporting the essential transport infrastructure, and connecting the park’s occupiers with the local supply chain such that business can reap the benefits of investment whilst also supporting our sustainability objectives.
We are providing a helping hand during construction, for people in need or the furthest from the job market. With the support of a wide range of partners including job centres, charities and local associations we have been able to maximise their opportunities to get into work.
We are ensuring that people seeking work experience and opportunities feel supported and receive the very best training they require to put them in a prime position to apply for jobs during construction of the site, which could extend to the operational stage.
We are reaching out to schools and colleges to engage the younger working generation with programmes that develop the skills required to enable young local people to get into work and stay in work.
A public transport strategy developed in consultation with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and Birmingham City Council, which will ensure Peddimore is directly served by enhanced bus services, including connections to key locations such as ‘Sprint Stops’, the local labour pool and wider labour pool accessibility via Birmingham City Centre.
Deployment of a demand responsive service which could be used to provide links to Coleshill Parkway Station and nearby villages as well as feed into bus services at Walmley.
A framework will be put in place which allows you to readily connect with local providers of routine goods and services that may be essential to the smooth running of your activities on site. By including tried and tested Social Enterprises, you will have the opportunity to enhance the returns from your available spend.
Buying local will further support our environmental sustainability objectives and the local economy.
